Program Scope:

Founded in 1993 by Lisa Price, the retail chain makes hair, body and skincare products with natural ingredients, with a special focus on products for African-American women. Due to financial backing in the past from such celebrities as actor Will Smith, actress Jada Pinkett Smith and hip-hop mogul Jay Z, the retailer rolled out an aggressive 2 year schedule to expand into malls and Macy’s department stores throughout the country.

Program Role:

As the only project manager on the program, Ivria curated project budgets, roll-out schedules, and communication with landlords to ensure compliance with individual tenant design requirements. Bi-monthly product and design reviews were handled in person with the client vendor partner based in Brooklyn, NY for their custom furniture package.

Ivria traveled to dozens of locations throughout the country managing sub-contractors during the tear down and installation process, often with a 7 day turnaround schedule for Macy’s in-store locations. While this program proved very demanding, Ivria loved the experience and looks back fondly, having gained tremendous knowledge and skills that strengthened her career.
